Oh, you know, you won't get the woman you want in life unless you smoke the right cigarette.

Or that was in my day.

These days, it's, I don't know, on the right car, wear the right clothes or whatever.

There's all this attempt to get us to accept perceptions. You know,

the big business perception today, the perception that drives business is

that the goal of businesses to maximize short-term

profits regardless of the social and environmental costs.

It's created a very lousy economic system, something I and a lot of other economists now are calling a death economy, an economy that obviously isn't working.

It's causing climate change, it's causing species extinctions, it's causing the coronavirus, when you come right down to, all of these things

add up to that, that it's all based on this perception.

And to change that, to create a life economy, we change the perception who the goal of business the goal of all

of us is to create long-term benefits for people in the environment.
