As always, I'm your host Patrick Weimann, thanks for joining me.

If you've been following Tides of History for a while, you'll know that I'm fascinated

by economic history and finance.

That's what I'm writing my book about, a lot of our episodes are focused on it, and

it's at least in the background of most of the rest.

But one thing we haven't talked about nearly enough is the history of economic thought.

That's one of many reasons I'm so stoked to talk to our guest today.

He's a senior reporter at Huff Post where he spent the last decade covering economic policy

in American politics.

Prior to that, he covered the 2008 financial crisis, macroeconomic policy, bank bailouts,

and financial regulatory policy.

He's also the author of the brand new book, The Price of Peace, Money, Democracy, and

the Life of John Maynard Keynes, which I really enjoyed.
