Nicholas Gutierrez of Diamond Bar drove his SUV into a group of jogging police recruits

in an area of Whittier. He struck 25 of them and several of them, still, four of them, still remain in

critical condition.

One apparently has taken even a further turn for the worst.

The other development in that story that we're going to get to deals with the fact that it looks

like the man behind the wheel and his family have done an interview with NBC4, where he's

claiming that he was asleep. It was not a deliberate act.
