Well, fentanyl. Fentanyl, of course, has become a real danger in this country.

Fentanyl is a very, very dangerous, dangerous drug.

A lot of it comes imported. It is 50 times more powerful than heroin,

and 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine.

About 2 milligrams is a potentially fatal dose for most people.

And just to give a perspective, a teaspoon of fentanyl contains about 5,000 milligrams.

So there have been a rising number of deaths related to fentanyl drug poisoning?

Two milligrams is like 10 to 15 grains of salt.

Small amount.

That's how little it takes to kill you.

In 2021, a record number of Americans, over 107,000, died from a drug poisoning or overdose, and 60% of those

deaths can be attributed to synthetic opioids such as fentanyl. Now, we're going to talk about what's

happening out in Riverside County, which was profiled in a recent story about what the DA there

and the sheriff are doing to try to step up

prosecuting people who have been involved in fentanyl dealing.
