For me, finding path to hopefulness is not like an intellectual exercise. It's like a necessity

for survival. And so I get there by fighting my way back there each time, and by believing,

you know, I mean, it's easy to forget this, but humans are amazing. Think of the music that we've

made. Think of the ways that we've protected each other. Think of the kindness that we were able

to show those we love, the ways we sacrifice for each other, the ways that we collaborate across

time and space. There's so much about us that's so beautiful. And so I do, I try to go back to that.

I try to go back and remind myself that like, even when my brain tells me that there is no hope

that nobody cares about me, that there is no love in my life that I'm merely a burden on those

who I care about, etc. All the dirty lies that the brain will tell you, I try to remind myself

like, that's not the whole story because a simple story is never the whole story.
