Summary
Nick Ashooh and JJ Regan got together to discuss John Carlson getting edged out by Nashville's Roman Josi for the James Norris Memorial Trophy, which is given to the years top Defenseman. John Carlson, who led all defensemen in scoring with 75 points and was on pace to be one of only 10 Defenseman in NHL history to reach 89 points, was a deserving candidate but Josi was considered to be the better all-around defenseman.
The guys will get into if they thought Carlson was snubbed in favor of Josi, what the Caps need to do to sure up their defensive lineup, who will back-up Ilya Samsonov next year if it isn't Holtby, what each of them has seen in the Stanley Cup Finals so far and what the season might look like next year once the bubble experiment is all over.

| 0:28.0 | go to Capo's way, did not go John Carlson's way. Roman Yossi absolutely deserving of it. |
| 0:33.7 | But that's the thing. Like, all of this is going to be if you side with one, if you compliment one guy, you're down, you're downplaying the other one. |
| 0:42.9 | They both deserved it. |
| 0:44.2 | You can't give it to both of them. |
| 0:45.5 | One of them edged out the other one. |
| 0:47.4 | And it's too bad because Carlson was definitely deserving. |
| 0:51.1 | Maybe he should have had the first half of the season that he had in the second |
| 0:55.1 | half. Maybe that would have helped his case a little bit. I think he had a little bit of Leonard |
| 0:59.8 | Fernette syndrome where everyone was given Leonard Fernett the Heisman after three games. Everyone |
| 1:04.5 | thought, okay, you can just give it to him right now. And he wasn't as good as the rest of the year. |
| 1:09.0 | John Carlson had the same kind of thing was good, was clearly one of the top two defensemen in the NHL this year, |
| 1:15.5 | but finished second, and that's still pretty darn good. |
| 1:18.6 | Capitalist Talk podcast brought to by MGM National Harbor. |
| 1:21.8 | Plenty more of that coming up right now. |
