Well, here's my thesis statement, and today we're in John Chapter 12,

verses 12 through 16,

and we're talking about choosing the painful will of God.

Here's my thesis.

The distance between where you are

and what God has destined for you is a path of pain.

It's a path of pain. It's a path of pain and how much pain you are willing to endure will determine how far you will go. Some of you right now you're facing great pain for some of you it's emotional pain

some of you it's financial some of it's spiritual some of its physical some of

its relational some of it's just very practical.

Life is painful and it hurts.

Oftentimes that pain is not caused by God,

but it is allowed by God, and it is God's way of maturing us and preparing us to enter into the

next season of his will for us.

So here's what you need to know as Christians.

We don't choose pain, but we choose God's will even if it includes

pain. And the result is that you and I need to make a decision when the pain increases

in our life, do I worship comfort or do I worship

Christ? And if we worship Christ, we continue through the pain. And if we worship

comfort, then we deny Christ in an effort to alleviate the pain.
