Hello, my name is James Acaster.

In 2017, I had a breakdown.

To deal with that breakdown, I bought as much music from 2016 as was humanly possible.

And as a result, I now own over 600 albums from 2016.

And I'm convinced it's the greatest year for music of all time.

But it's not enough me being convinced.

I also want to convince each and every single one of you and my guest each week.

This week, I'm talking to comedian Joe Sutherland

about the album Discordia by Belongna Violenta.

Belongne Violenta is the project of Nicola Manzan, an Italian classically trained musician. He plays violin on the album.

And this is the album where it became a duo with the addition of Alessandro Vagnoni on the drums.

He also fuses this classical music with grindcore, one of the heaviest of heavy metal genres.

It's a very difficult record for people who are not into heavy metal.

I obviously love it. I've listened to it countless times. I own it on vinyl. I wrote about it in my book. But Joe, I'm not sure what music Joe likes. So if he likes metal, I might be okay. If he doesn't, we could be on shaky ground.
