Football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier. Join us. So is my co-ist Nick Falado. We're here to talk a little bit

Giants football today. We're going to be discussing a few different things on the show. First and foremost,

we'll take up most of the show will be the Giants decision to resign, extend, whatever you want to call. I think it was extend Joe Shane because he was heading into a lame duck year. So it is an extension. As far as the details, we don't know them yet as far as how many years he got extended for what it means from a financial standpoint. But Joe Shane was extended. We'll talk about that. We'll also talk about Giants minicam, which went on this past week with one media day, which was Thursday the 21st, I believe was the media day, Nick. Got some insight from John Harbaugh, head coach, Jackson Dart, quarterback. We'll talk about some of the things he said in his interview. I thought he brought up some interesting things when it came to Isaiah likely, what he's, what's changed about what he's learning about the new system, Nick, and then also just some of the different things he's worked on as far as his body, his frame, and his footwork, things we discussed on the show. And then Darnell Mooney, I thought a really interesting interview when I listened to it. Really feel good about that one. And we'll talk about some of that as well. And then update on some injuries, Nick. So maybe let's start there. Just a little recap of what's gone down. The Giants have unfortunately suffered a few injuries. Yeah, some devastating ones too. And we'll start with Roy Robertson Harris. I saw on Twitter that Roy Robertson Harris is like, he limped off the field. I think I saw Dan Duggan

tweet something like that. And I was like, I limped off the field. What does that mean? Like,

who knows? And then I checked back like two hours later. And it's like, yeah, Roy Robertson Harris towards Achilles. And I was like, that is devastating. I feel so bad for him. He's a 10-year vet. he's in his early 30s.

That's a tough injury to overcome.

And then you think about it from a giant's perspective.

And you're like, look, if you're really, if you're really depending on Roy Robertson Harris to be

a, like a major factor in your defensive line rotation, it's not a great place to be. And that's no

criticism of Roy Robertson Harris. I think he's a good football player. But the loss of him is going to be felt.

And I think it really puts a little bit of a burden on Darius Alexander, who was off

to a slow start last year because he missed mini camp in OTAs.

And then towards the end of the year, he started having an impact as a pass rusher.

So I'm hoping Darius Alexander gets his healthy offseason and and then he hits the ground running, and he learns from the DJ readers and the Shelby Harris's of the world. Thankfully, the Giants went out and signed two veterans because Roy Robertson Harris, this loss, it's going to be felt, and it sucks, and I feel really bad for the player, and I hope he lands on his feet next season. It's disappointing for me, Nick, because I know from what we evaluated last season, Roy Arbiton Harris is one of those unheralded heroes on a lot of the tape we broke down. We felt that way strongly. Like we're watching this tape. We're spending the time to do it. We're breaking down all these plays and And this is a guy who's making more plays than he's being credited for.

I also think he offered that D-Line room and that D-Line group something a little bit different than basically everybody on this team from a past rushing standpoint. That's really lost at this point. I felt like, look, the upgrades we've made on the D line and the depth we brought in maybe fits what we want to do a little bit more than somebody like Roy Robinson Harris.
