You know what's secretly painful and we don't talk about it nearly enough?

Menopause. Don't turn the show off if you're a man. In fact, if you're a husband, listen close.

If you're a young woman, file this one for later. We need to know what our moms are going through,

what we as women will be going through if we're not there yet, women in our lives that we love,

what they're going through. And when it happens to us, it's like it's taboo to talk about it.

Wrapping up this month on the Jesus Over Everything show where we've been talking about things

that affect our lives, but we don't often talk about and need to. I'm your host Lisa Whittle.

I remember when I was younger and people would talk about menopause and I thought that is for the old ladies.

I remember I saw a book one time with a title that was something like Lord, blame it on menopause and my hormones.

And I thought, oh, what a hokey title.

And I don't need to think or talk about that.

Can you imagine?

I think I was 20, 21.

Now I much more understand.

I can tell you I wish I had at least educated myself about it a bit because it hit me fast and furious and kind of strangely.

I'll tell you about that in a minute.

But what I've come to find out

since is that while so many of the things are the same, none of us experience menopause

identically. Some experience it much earlier than others. Some because of surgery. Some have one

symptom first and then others have another. Full disclosure and recognition that I am not a doctor whatsoever.
