I want to talk about this idea of being real,

and I want to tell you what I learned about it from a man named Luke Lang.

So if you've read the book Jesus Over Everything or watched the Bible study videos, you know about this man named Luke Lang.

He's someone I never met, yet very much influenced my life in a short period of time, so much so that I wrote about him in my new book.

I met Luke on good old Facebook after randomly winding up on his page through

some mindless surfing. I won't give everything away because I want you to go read it in the book

or hear about it in the Bible study. I also talk about it there. But know this. Luke inspired me

with his reel. He wasn't perfect. He didn't sugarcoat his hard days and he had some

really hard days. He was honest and he was funny. Sometimes his posts reflected doubt and yet an

underlying faith. And I got the sense that he was always fully himself. His real was a gift to me,

especially on the day I found him, which I remember as one

of those days that I couldn't take another perfect Instagram picture or inspirational post.

And y'all must know, I myself post some inspirational posts, so I am not against them.

I appreciate them. I like them. But just some days, I can't take another one,

just like you. I needed something different. I needed Luke to give me something with his very real
