And the number one pick in the draft, the year that I was born, was a player named Joe Barry Carroll.

He was a talented big man out of Purdue. And that was a pick that was initially owned by the Celtics,

but they traded back with the Warriors who had the third pick. The Warriors traded future Hall of

Famer Robert Parrish, starting center for the Celtics for a long time. And the third pick,

which became Kevin McAil, their future Hall of Fame starting power forward.

And Joe Barry Carroll was on the other side of that.

He ended up in Golden State.

And he was a good player, averaged 20 plus points, I think four times in his career.

But if you watched him, you started catching on to the fact that he's not the most interested

and engaged player overall, leading to one of the more stinging nicknames in NBA history.

Players started calling him what, Dee?

Joe barely cares.

And it wasn't a player.
