We're going to try to do six chapters. Is that six? 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, yeah, six chapters. By faith, we're going to do six chapters tonight. We're really in for something else tonight, especially I think in chapter 13, if I remember correctly.

So why don't we pray and we'll get into the Word, if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, thank you so much for your word.

Lord, this book that you have included within the canon of Scripture that all

of these generations later we here tonight would be reading and hearing and hopefully taking to heart, that which is written in this book,

as intense and even involved as it is and as ugly as it gets.

Lord, I just pray that as only you can and always do, that you by the Holy Spirit would just

speak into our lives in and through this portion that we have before us tonight. Lord,

minister to us and show us what you want us to see so that we can take home with us tonight. Lord, minister to us and show us what you want us to see so that we can take home

with us tonight after our time together in your words, something that we can really begin to

apply to our lives, just by a way of practical and personal application to our lives. So, Lord, thank you. In Jesus' name, amen.

So two weeks ago we left Job and his three so-called friends. That's what I'm going to refer to them as,

because with friends like that who needs enemies, Going back and forth and his so-called friends are falsely accusing him of everything under the sun,

namely that of secret and unconfessed sin in his life as being the reason for his unspeakable suffering and pain.

And we have to, again, sort of paint the canvas of the scene that we have here at this point in the book of Job. Job is actually sitting in a rubbish heap

on a pile of ashes, ashes because that's where they would take all of the rubbish from

the city and burn it. And so he's sitting there in this rubbish heap on a pile of ashes,

and he is scraping himself with any sharp object that he can find. And the reason he's scraping himself

is because he's covered from head to toe in pussy, itchy boils.

You'll forgive the graphic description, but that's what we're told in the narrative.

And that is his physical state.

And if that's not bad enough, his emotional state is deteriorating with each passing chapter,
