I'm not looking to drag New York City. I'm not looking to rag on New York City. I love the

city and our peeps in the city. I am not looking to go in on New York City ever really but especially this week

especially on a week when NYC looks like a terrifying post-apocalyptic Hellscape.

And I'm sure as hell not going to pile on from SoCal.

Again, and if you're watching the images on CBS Sports Network, you see what I'm talking about.

There is that Hellscape.

I love New York City.

I love our TV crew that is currently operating out of that terrifying post-apocalyptic

Hellscape as a result of those raging Canadian forest fires. I really do not

want to end the week salting that wound. If anything, New Yorkers need a

pick me up right now. However, one thing is for damn sure.

They're not going to get that pick me up from their baseball team, not from the New York Mets.

In fact, Mets baseball makes that post-apocalyptic Hellscape look and feel like a clear and breezy summer day by comparison.

You know that one day when you all come out in Central Park like that, that first day, you're all out in Central Park like that first day you're all out there

you're roller skating you're jogging your shirts are off you're hanging out by

comparison it looks like that like if New York is a post-apocalyptic hellscape right now,

then I don't even know what you'd call the Mets.

They're whatever is way worse than that. Or I guess you could just say New York City

looks like the Mets are playing right now, right? Because not only did the Mets

just get swept by their arch rivals in Atlanta last night

to make it six straight losses and drop them three games under 500 and into fourth place in the N.L. East, all of which I don't care where we are in the
