Ken Baugh served as a local church pastor for 27 years, and he currently teaches in Tabor College's

Masters of Education Program in Neuroscience and Trauma. He's the founder and CEO of the Institute for Discipleship Training,

and he's the author of Unhindered Abundance, a book exploring the process of how we grow and develop into the image of

Christ. Ken, thanks so much for joining us today. Thanks, Kirk. It's great being with you.

And it's so great to have you right here in person. Yes, I much prefer this. Yeah, I do too.

Particularly when we're talking about discipleship and we're talking about the need for having good friends,

wise friends, mature friends to be able to learn from. Yeah, spiritual growth always happens in the

context of relationship. So relationship is a key. Ken, you've been a pastor for almost a few

decades now, and part of your job is discipleship coach. Can you help us understand? What does that mean? So it's just the opportunity to come alongside of guys that are really wanting to go to a deeper place of intimacy with Jesus. And these are Christian businessmen, most of them. I also work with a lot of

pastors, just encouraging them and coming alongside of them because I know the pressures of ministry

and the difficulties that ensue. So it's more just coming alongside as a friend and a mentor and a

coach to encourage them in their faith. And very often that includes

just some of the things they're maybe going through currently that are difficult or maybe from some

past pains and traumas that they've yet to process, that they come to a realization that, you know,

maybe there's something there that needs to be worked through as well. So I get to apply just all my training and just things that I enjoy in regard to the things

that I've learned and the things that I've experienced in those various relationships.

There's so many books out there on discipleship.

What you described to me sounds like you're a good friend who's been down the road

and you're helping other guys sort of come down the road and show them the ropes too.

But give us a simple but accurate definition.
