Tonight we're going to continue in the book of Matthew.

And if you've been around for the last few months,

actually even for the last year, we've kind of been working our way

through this book.

And tonight we're going to pick up in chapter seven.

So obviously it's taking us a little bit of time.

But we're just really intentional people, you know?

So that's something.

Last week Alex talked about worry and how God delights to give us

what we need.

And this week we'll find Jesus beginning to actually conclude

this famous sermon on the Mount.

And in that he'll be speaking to places in us or in our humanity

or as Dallas Willard puts it, he's going to speak to some of those tender

places in us, as deep places that are actually the epicenter

of our response to Jesus in this teaching.

This is the place where our actions and our behaviors will come from.

So with that, why don't we read tonight's text,

Matthew chapter seven, verses one through six.

Jesus says, do not judge or you too will be judged.

For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged.

And with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
