In every society, there are always people who are considered the outcast.

They are the people that folks avoid.

They do everything they can to stay away from them.

In Jesus' day, there was a group of people that really were untouchable.

They were the outcast of society.

That particular demographic, that group was made up of everything from harlots and wicked immoral people to folks like lepers,

folks with physical maladies and problems that men could not solve. And yet, when you read the

gospel records and when you concentrate on the

miracles of Jesus, one of the things you see is Jesus love for the outcast,

Jesus love for the untouchable.

Today, we're looking at one of those occasions and learning that Jesus loves lepers.

That's right. Jesus loves lepers. Now, in scripture,

leprosy was one of the most hated, despised diseases because once you had it, you were unclean.

You had to cry out unclean, unclean, and stay away from people. It was really a picture in so many ways of what sin does to us, the death that it brings,

and the defilement that it brings.

And nobody touched lepers, but Jesus did.

This particular miracle is found in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, but let me zero in today on Mark's account.
