But the great emphasis of Scripture is on why he came.

It is my conviction that God has a plan and purpose for every life.

That means every person that's born, every person that ever lives and walks on this planet

has a divine purpose for which God let them live.

Well, if that's true of every man, certainly that's true of the God man.

In fact, most especially so.

We're talking in this study about why Jesus came.

You know, sometimes we get so bogged down in the what.

We miss the why.

We start talking about all the details of the life of Christ,

but we miss the big picture. My pastor taught me years ago, if you can learn the why, you can

understand the what. You can figure out the details. In fact, you'll get a whole different

perspective on it if you understand the why behind it all. And so we're walking through the gospel

records and we're looking at why Jesus came, these great purpose statements. And I want to give you

one great truth today and it's found in three different passages and it is this. Would you like to

know the divine destiny of why Christ came to this planet? Why did

he come? Did he just come to be a good teacher? Did he just come to give a good example and live a

good life? No, my friend. Here's why Jesus came. Jesus came to save. Let's begin at the beginning.
