Yes, like John Mark said, well first of all, hello.

Second, yes, like John Mark said, we're really excited about this evening, but also really

excited about having this conversation just as a church.

It's a unique opportunity for us to engage in some of the things that are happening around

the world and to talk as a church family about what that means for us.

So we want to jump in tonight.

We don't want to waste any time.

We open your Bibles with me to John, chapter 4.

Now usually we work through our text line by line.

Tonight we're going to do a little bit of chunking.

We're going to work through it chunk by chunk.

Is that okay?

Okay.

Well, for three of you it is, and the rest of you, just going to have to feel your feelings

and we can talk about them later.

We're going to start in verse 1.

John 4, verse 1.

Jesus reads this.

Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples

than John, although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized but his disciples.

So he left Judea and he went back once more to Galilee.

Now he had to go through Samaria, so he came to a town in Samaria called Psycar.
