I'm the host Scott Feinberg, and my guest today is Jessica Chastain, the 39-year-old

actress who is best known for her work in the films The Help, The Debt, Take Shelter,

Coriolanus, The Tree of Life, Lawless, Zero Dark 30, Mama,

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Miss Julie,

a Most Violent Year, Interstellar, The Martian, Crimson Peak, and now Miss Sloane, John Madden's new film

about the gun lobby and one particular gun lobbyist, played by Chastain, who starts on one side

of the issue and ends up on the other.

Over the course of our conversation, Chastine and I talk about her journey from humble beginnings to

Juilliard, as well as her big break, being discovered by Al Pacino.

We delve into her breakthrough year in film 2011, within which she appeared in six films, two of

which received Best Picture Oscar nominations and one of which brought her a Best

Supporting Actress Oscar nomination.

We also delve into her big follow-up to that year in Catherine Bigelow's Zero Dark 30,

another eventual Best Picture Oscar nominee for which she received a best actress Oscar nomination for portraying the woman who led the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
