podcast. I'm the host Scott Feinberg and my guest today is an actress

slash producer who has been one of America's sweethearts since she was just 14 years old.

Jessica Beal.

Beal first made her name as Mary Camden, a preacher's daughter on what became the most

successful show in the history of the WB network, 7th Heaven, which lasted for 11 seasons, setting a new record for

TV's longest running family drama. She was a regular on it for the first six, after which she left to focus

on college for a few semesters, and then on films.

On the big screen, she has been hard to pin down, having appeared in films spanning the spectrum

of genres, including the drama Yule's Gold, the black comedy rules of attraction, the horror

flick remake, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the superhero sequel Blade Trinity, the action movie stealth, the mystery of the illusionist, The Period Peace Easy Virtue, the

Biopick Hitchcock, and the list goes on.

In recent years Beale was perhaps best known as the wife of Justin Timberlake, who she married in 2012 and with whom she had a child in 2015.

But then, last August and September, she reminded everyone that she is in her own right

an artist to be reckoned with.

Through the Center, an adaptation of a best-selling German novel that she and her Iron Ocean

films producing partner Michelle Purple helped to guide to fruition, and in which over the course of 8 45 minute

episodes that aired on the USA Network, she gave the best performance of her career.

As Cora Tenetti, a wife and mother who, out of the blue, murders someone in the

bright of day in full view of many witnesses and then professes to have no idea why she

did it. The Sinner wound up the most watched new basic cable show of 2017.
