And we're so glad you're back with us for Day 9 of our Jesse Tree journey.

Today's story is kind of intense.

It's about a dark night, a special lamb, and how God rescued his people from danger.

That's right, we're learning about Passover.

The night God saved his people in Egypt.

So tiny theologians, go grab your day nine, Jesse tree card, and your lamb-ongered in it.

All right, let's go.

Remember yesterday when we met Moses, and God spoke to him through a burning bush?

Yep. God told Moses to go rescue his people from slavery.

Well, Pharaoh didn't want to let the people go.

So God sent plagues, really big signs to show his power.

And the last one was the most serious.

On that night, every firstborn child in Egypt would die unless something special happened.

God gave his people a way to be safe.

He told them to take a lamb without any blemish or a flaw and sacrifice it.

Then they had to put the lamb's blood on their door flames.

That sounds kind of scary.
