Hi there, tiny theologians. I'm so glad you're here today. You might know me as T.J. and

0:19.6

Tori's mom. And today we're going to talk about

0:22.0

something really important, God's law. So if you haven't already, go ahead and grab your

0:27.1

day 10 Jesse Tree card and your stone tablets ornament. I'll wait just a moment while you find them.

0:35.4

Got it? You're so awesome. Let's begin. When God rescued his people from slavery in Egypt,

0:42.1

he didn't just set them free and say, good luck. No, he led them. He guided them. And at Mount Sinai,

0:49.4

he gave him something special, his law. Now, you've probably heard of the Ten Commandments before.

0:56.0

These are ten big, important instructions that show us how to love God and love other people.

1:02.2

Let me read just a few from Exodus 20. You shall have no other gods before me. Honor your father and

1:08.1

mother. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony. God's law is good.

1:14.2

1:20.6

But here's the hard part. We can't keep it perfectly. Not even close. We try, but we mess up. We forget, we disobey, we break

1:29.2

God's commands, and that is why we need a Savior. Let me read what your Jesse Tree card says today.

1:39.1

The stone tablets ornament reminds us of the ten commandments that God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai.

1:46.0

These laws showed God's people how to live life God's way. But they also revealed that no one could

1:52.1

keep them perfectly. That's why we need Jesus, the only one who ever obeyed God's law

1:57.6

completely. Jesus didn't just follow the law. He fulfilled it for us and offers us

2:04.0

his perfect record in exchange for our sin. Isn't that amazing? Jesus never sinned, not even once.

2:13.9

And because of that, when we put our trust in Him, we get to stand before God as if we had obeyed perfectly too.

2:20.2

Not because we're perfect, but because Jesus is.

2:24.4

Go ahead and hang your stone tablets ornament on your Jesse tree.

2:29.7

And as you do, remember this.
