And we're so excited today because we're starting our celebration of Advent.

Yes, Advent.

Wait, Tori, what's Advent?

Advent is when Christians remember the first time that Jesus came into the world as a baby.

Advent means arrival, so it is the time we remember Jesus' first arrival in the world.

Jesus' first arrival? Does world. Jesus' first arrival?

Does that mean he will arrive again?

Exactly, T.J.

During Abbott, we remember that we were separated from God by our sin,

and we had no way to save ourselves.

But God promises then a Savior who would pay the penalty for our sins, dying in our place,

and would rise again so that through Him we could be made right with God.

Jesus was a Savior God promised to sin, and he arrived in Bethlehem as a baby.

And then he went on to do all of the things God promised he would do.

He told people about God's kingdom, and eventually he died on the cross for our sins.

Yes, but he didn't stay dead, did he?

No way.

Jesus rose again on a third day, just like he said he would.

And because of Jesus' death and resurrection,

anyone who places their faith in Jesus can be in right relationship with God now and forever.
