Nearly 7 million Americans on Saturday participated in no-kings protests across the country against the Trump administration. That number goes up to 10 million if you include everybody who said, oh, that's today. Dang it. Dang it.

But first, a closer look. As millions of Americans prepared to take part in a historic show of protest on Saturday, President

Trump responded by fulfilling the number one promise of his campaign, lowering grocery prices.

Wait, I read that wrong, releasing George Santos from prison.

Santos, if you'll recall, was a Republican congressman who was convicted of fraud and identity theft

and kicked out of Congress by his own party, as well as an Olympic volleyball player

and Nobel Prize-winning scientist who won three Super Bowls and toured the country with Taylor Swift.

Trump truly is the Law and Order president. For more on this, it's time for a closer look.

In the year since Trump's election victory, his supporters have repeatedly claimed that he has an overwhelming mandate to do basically whatever he wants.

There was a mandate on November 5th that Donald Trump will be the leader of the free world.

The American people's voices were heard. There's a mandate.

President Trump was elected on a mandate. He won a historic mandate.

I think we've got a mandate from the American people.

They wanted Donald Trump. They gave him a mandate. The Trump mandate is being implemented. He has a clear mandate. Donald Trump has a mandate. Donald Trump's got a great mandate. Make no mistake, Donald Trump has a massive mandate. Now, generally speaking, if you have a really big mandate, you don't have to tell people about it. And if that's the first thing you brag about, it is a turnoff. It's like if a guy's Tinder bio said, loves hiking, plays board games, has a very big you-know-what. Although, who knows, I've never been on Tinder, dating apps weren't around when I was single. That's why I gave out business cards. They were classy, they were elegant, and they read Seth Myers loves hiking, plays board games, has a very big, you know one. I'm joking, of course, I hate hiking on account of always tripping over my, you know, yeah, I've said too much. But I will admit, when Trump won, there was definitely a part of me that believed the hype. It was easy to panic and think, I guess this is who we are now.

That's why he immediately started packing a go bag full of cash, clothes, passports, and a stack of

new business cards printed in multiple languages. There was no time for subtlety, but it quickly

became clear that they were wrong. Trump did not have a massive mandate. He didn't even win a majority

of the popular vote, and his approval rating quickly plummeted once again to historic lows.

So the president says things are great? What do the voters say?
