Unfortunately, they had a little black cloud that followed them all through life and lived through every waking moment of those black clouds and fought through it.

There's no way that they would throw in the talent. They couldn't walk away. Their cash was left behind. Their drivers licenses. They're not the type of people that could just run out and go gain new identities and go live on a beach somewhere. That's just not their personalities.

They were not that way.

Jerry and Susan McFalls were handling business at a residence they owned in Littlefield, Arizona when they last spoke to their family.

They were planning on returning to their home in West Jordan, Utah by Saturday, January 14, 2018, but they would never make it home.

On January 11, 2018, around 3pm, relatives received a text message from Susan and Jerry making plans to meet up that weekend once they returned to Utah.

The weekend came and went with no sign or word from Jerry and Susan. The family decided to contact the Mojave County Sheriff's Department to do a well-check on the couple.

When the deputy arrived, everything on the outside of the residence looked perfectly in place. However, upon closer examination, the deputy noticed something strange. The front door to the home was left at jar, allowing for the couple's two dogs to roam in and out of the house.

Luckily, there had been water source out back for the dogs. Once the deputy entered the home, he noticed that the dogs had not been fed or given water for quite some time.

Another oddity was that the TV had been left on and it appeared that someone was prepping to make dinner, but for some reason had stopped right in the middle of doing it.

Everything belonging to Jerry and Susan appeared to be in the house. The only thing that was missing was them. What happened to Jerry and Susan on January 11, 2018?

Jerry and Susan McFaul's own two properties. One in Littlefield, Arizona and the other in West Jordan, Utah. They would split their time between the two houses, traveling back and forth with their beloved dogs.

They considered the house in Arizona, which sat on about two acres to be more of a retirement project that they would eventually be able to turn into something more.

They had purchased the Arizona property about eight years ago and began spending time there mostly during the winters. After Jerry retired from his auto mechanic shop about three years ago, they started spending more time in Arizona.

I spoke to Jerry and Susan's daughter-in-law, Marity, for this episode. Here's Marity talking about when her in-laws purchased the property in Arizona, an event that would cause a longstanding dispute with their neighbor, David Myhaver and his wife.

According to Marity, the Myhavers were staying in the home that Susan and Jerry had purchased. The exact reason why they were there remains unclear, but Marity has been told various different stories.
