Hey everyone, this is Mary DeMuth and this is Pray Every Day, where I have the joy and privilege of praying you through the Bible verse by verse.

As I mentioned last October 1st, a month ago, I'm going to be continuing to record Pray Every Day for you as God gives me the strength and the voice to do so in the heart.

And I just want to thank all of you for your kind comments that came

in that really encouraged me and William and Kristen. So as I can, I'm going to be sharing

some of these little pieces of feedback, hoping that they would be an encouragement to you as well.

So Laura writes this, Mary, I have been listening to your podcast every day for over five years.

Two weeks ago, I had back surgery. Since then, twice your special prayers at the beginning of the

episode sounded like they were just for me. One was about someone who had had surgery and another

about someone who had a hurting back. God blessed you for what you do to spread God's love throughout the world. I pray for your insomnia and hope that you are getting more peaceful rest. Thank you again for all that you do. Laura, thank you so much for taking the time to write that and for sharing that. And of course, thanks for praying for that insomnia because it can be a frustrating one. All right, today I'm going to be reading from Jeremiah,

chapter 6, verses 16 through 30 in the World English Bible,

and this is what it says.

Yahweh says,

Stand in the ways and see and ask for the old paths.

Where is the good way and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls?

But they said, we will not walk in it.

I set watchmen over you saying, listen to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, we will not listen.

Therefore, hear you nations and know congregation what is among them. Hear earth, behold, I will

bring evil on this people and even on the fruit of their thoughts

because they have not listened to my words. And as for my law, they have rejected it. To what purpose

does frankincense from Shiba come to me and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are

not acceptable and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me. Therefore, Yahweh says,

Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people.
