This is the podcast where we focus on elements of the scriptures that have helped them become more real to us because we believe that that allows us to draw more power and apply them to our lives better.

I'm your host, Kerry Mielstein. And I'm so happy to have with me a returning guest from last season

and a dear friend of mine that I respect so much, both as a person and a scholar.

This is Dr. Jennifer Clark Lane, who I've known since I was an undergrad,

and we were taking Eugherita classes together, and then she went to Claremont to do her graduate studies and then we both taught at BYU

Hawaii together where she not only taught religion classes but spent a lot of time in

administration as well and now is back as a fellow at the Neill A. Maxwell Institute for

Religious Studies. And so I'm just glad she's made some time for us. Thank you. Welcome, Jennifer.

Oh, thanks, Carrie. It's a delight to be here with you. I'm really excited to study these

scriptures together with you today. Yeah, well, we are blessed to with you. I'm really excited to study these scriptures together with you today.

Yeah, well, we are blessed to have you with us, and we hope to have Jennifer on a bit more.

She's so good with the New Testament. And I'd also like to recommend her book on the

Covenant Now. I'm embarrassed. I can't remember the exact name is this about. Can you tell us the

name? Sure. Finding Christ in the

covenant path, ancient insights for the modern world. Which I love that book. We'll try and remember to put a link to it in the show notes.

You guys would find a lot of great stuff in that book as well. So what else should we know about you, Jennifer?

I guess we should say she's married to a really wonderful guy, Keith,

who also taught religion at BYU, Hawaii.
