And Jeff Staple, Streetware Design Legend, created the Pigeon Dunk for Nike, one of the most iconic sneakers of its time.

And I always wanted to hear him talk about how it came about.

So this was, it came at a very fortuitous moment.

It was, we had already been working with

Nike a couple of times on on some very projects so it wasn't like a cold call so

Nike called me one day and said it it's the anniversary of the dunk.

It was I think the 35th anniversary of the dunk.

And we want to do one dedicated to different key cities,

Paris, London, California, Tokyo, and New York, would you be interested in designing the New York one for us?

So me and my team sat down and had a brainstorm session and at the time we were already developing an icon for my brand which was the pigeon and we didn't necessarily think the pigeon was going on the shoe right away, but why did we design an icon?

Yeah, well, well, or why the pigeon. Yeah, why the pigeon?

Oh, the pigeon to me is just like the unofficial mascot of being a New Yorker.

Like New Yorkers are pigeons. Like even the humans are pigeons. Like we are just out here

scraping and surviving on crumbs trying to like live in this city and some of us making and fly and some of us are roadkill

I mean we are pay we're the personification of that

Pigeons also just like they don't give a fuck right like they I love how their attitude is like so new like they just walk right next to you and like you ever try to cross a road and there's a
