Fulcher Senior Editor Jesse David Fox. Each episode I have a comedian on to play and talk about one of their jokes.

You'll hear what happened in the interview, but essentially Jeff Garland refused to pick a joke.

I was bum, but not surprised because Jeff doesn't really write jokes as much as go on stage and just

improvised a set based on whatever's in his head.

So I said this to Jeff, you don't have to pick a joke, but we will start the interview talking about why you wouldn't.

And that's what we did, and that's what you're about to hear right about now.

So we're here with Jeff Garland. So traditionally how the

how the podcast works is comedians pick, you know, loosely defined

joke or bit of theirs and we use that to talk about how and why

they make the comedy they make. You didn't want to pick one which is okay

and I found that really interesting and I think that's a good place for us to start

well I know I want to pick one I just had cancelled yeah yeah well I didn't want to

tell that.

Okay.

I mean, it was nothing against you.

It's like, I'm clearly not who should be on the show, you know?

No, I improvised my stand-up.

I don't have, I have stories that, you know, at certain moments when I'm performing, I'm reminded of, and I'll tell.

So I'm not like this purist, but I am purist in terms of being a purist in terms of being in the moment.
