I've got Jason Witton of the Dallas Cowboys and Greg Olson of the Carolina Panthers both talking about their longevity and all the other things happening in their lives.

But first, a few thoughts about the current row between Roger Goodell and his contract and the

committee negotiating his contract and the upstart Jerry Jones and you know the upstart in this case who's the Dallas

Cowboys owner obviously Jerry Jones you have known Jones for a long time. When I worked for News Day, a paper on Long Island, in the

late 80s, I wrote what I believe is the first long story, the long profile,

when he was attempting to become the owner

of the Dallas Cowboys of Jerry Jones.

So I've known him a lot over the years,

and let me just make this point in my opinion about

Jones and there's going to be a lot of people who are going to have a lot of opinions about Jerry Jones.

He's selfish.

He's only out for his own good.

He basically wants the Dallas Cowboys to be the kings of the world and all that. You know I

get that and I get that a lot of people believe he's selfish and in this case

I get a lot of people believe that he's not a team

player. There's a lot of evidence to suggest that he's not a team player in this case.

I totally get it but I do want to remind you of a couple of things as you

consider the man in the black hat Jerry Jones. And I would I would I would make this point first about him that over the years he's

taken a lot of unpopular stands and you know one of those stands I'll never forget was in the early

90s when Jones fought the NFL's attempt to give money back to television networks when they were going
