spirit just a little bit. And one of the reasons my spirit has been so troubled is because

the race didn't have to be this way. I am, of course, talking about the contest between

Jasmine Crockett, who currently serves as congressional representative for the state of Texas, and one James Tala Rico, who currently serves the state of Texas in the state house.

Now, I have said before that I thought that when this race was first announced and we saw who was going to be in and who was going to be out, I was like, this is really good.

Texas is going to have great options for their state senator because, frankly, the trash that y'all got right now in Ted Cruz, baby, and John Cornyn, it's just not a good mix. And then on the Republican side, we've got these awful, awful, awful candidates running for this open seat. And those candidates include, again, John Cornyn, who is running for re-election,

and Ken Paxton, who is the current Attorney General of the state of Texas. They are just awful, terrible, no good, very bad people. And I don't mean that because I know them personally. I mean that because their policies and their actions and the things that they say in word and indeed suck and are anti-human. And they're running to represent the Republicans. So I was thinking, you know, this is great. James Telerico. I've interviewed him before on this show, and I had been following him for a little bit of time because I really loved the way that this young white male was able to basically speak truth to power about white Christian nationalism from not only the State House of Texas, but on interviews where he is, you know, someone who's a part of seminary, he's sort of upholding the banner of righteousness and realism when it comes

to challenging those within the Christian faith who would weaponize Christianity to do evil
