2025 is officially here, and I still can't believe it.

It feels like just yesterday I was just a kid

in the early 2000s and here I am in my adulthood in existential dread. I'm just kidding. It's not that

bad. Anywho, we're starting the year off strong. We've got three great stories for you today,

so let's dive right into them in Las Vegas

Nevada police were called to an apartment for reported homicide in Iowa a woman

arrived home and found her boyfriend shot to death inside of their house and in

North Carolina law enforcement was called to a fast food restaurant for an

alleged shooting all of this coming at you right now, here on

Sword and Scale Daily. You know, I've covered true crime for a long time.

I've covered hundreds of stories at this point, both long format, short format.

And while they're all important, I often come across stories that make me think,

what the actual hell happened here.

And this, well, this is one of those stories.

So back on Friday, December 27th at around 9.30 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan

Police Department received a call regarding a homicide on the 3,400 block of Mercury Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with the reporting party, a 12-year-old girl.
