Hi friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first

four books of the New Testament, the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These

are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the

parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. So we'll read three chapters a

day and finish in 30 days. So every month we're going to read all four books.

Go ahead and subscribe today if you haven't yet and join us as we read the

Gospels together. This month we are going to actually start in the book of

John. For many of us, this is our first time listening through the Gospels

and I think this book is a great place to begin our journey this month. As

January continues, we're going to read Luke and then Matthew and then Mark.

Each month will be a little different, but we wanted to start this year with

the fresh lens to these stories. We'll use multiple translations this year, but

I wanted to start off reading from the Bible I have had for years. The one I read

from most mornings, it's a quest study Bible in the NIV 84 translation. I will read

three chapters to you. You can listen or read along in your own Bible, and then

I'll pray. And that's it. So today is January 1st, day one. And I will be

reading John chapters one through three and the translation I'll be reading

from this month is NIV 84. John chapter one, the word became flesh. In the

beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. He was

with God in the beginning. Through him, all things were made without him,

nothing was made that has been made in him was life. And that life was the
