me tonight. This evening will be beginning Jane Eyre. It was written by Charlotte Bronte

and was originally published like many other female authors at the time under a pseudonym

in 1847. Miss Bronte chose Cura Bound and you'll notice that she used her actual initials

CB for her pending. The book became famous as the first to intimately follow a main characters

in tunnel development, morally and spiritually, which influenced many later works of literature.

Literary critic Daniel S. Bird called her the first historian of the private consciousness

for her intimate writing style and emotionally charged first person narrative. This book
