Hello, gang. Layton Flowers here with Sochiology 101 for our first Google Hangout of 2019.

Happy New Year to all of you. Hopefully you got some rest last night. I imagine there are a few of our friends who are still recovering from a late night. I probably should be. I didn't sleep as much last night as I probably should have.

I've had all kinds of family issues we've been dealing with over the last couple of weeks,

but I appreciate those that we've been praying for my in-laws, and especially as they're transitioning into an assisted living area,

and we've kind of been packing up boxes and moving and all that kind of fun stuff, and that's always a joy.

Last night, we dealt with the loss of a pet situation.

Those have gone through that.

That was also kind of an emotional thing.

So all of that happened at one time.

And so thanks for your prayers and support.

As we begin this new year and as we even kind of confront this particular issue today,

it was reminded to me that we don't usually start broadcast with prayer. I've actually

been criticized for doing that because someone actually gives it a bit, you're bringing too much

emotion into it, all those kinds of things. And that's never our intent. I do always pray

before I start a broadcast and I got a Google Hangout.

But to pray on the broadcaster hangout, sometimes we haven't done that.

Sometimes that may help set the tone in the right direction.

And so let's just do that now.

Father, we come before you.

And we do thank you, God, for your grace.

We thank you for technology that I can meet with people even now on New Year's morning at 10 a.m.
