Hello, it's Antrice and welcome to another episode of the savvy painter

podcast. Before we get started a couple of updates I know I've been quieter than

usual but that is in part because I am so very very excited to tell you that my husband and

I are at long last finished with all the immigration bureaucracy.

We did it. While I was in Italy on my painting sabbatical, my husband

had his final interview at the U.S. Embassy in Argentina. They gave him the thumbs up and all the

proper stamps and letters.

So when I returned to Argentina, we took a few weeks to pack everything up,

say goodbye to family and friends, and we jumped on a plane back to Los Angeles. We took a few weeks to find a new home

and sift through all of the boxes that were stored away for five years that I was in Argentina,

and then we made our way up to Mammoth.

So right now we are almost unpacked.

My studio is nearly set up, and we are putting together a tiny little recording studio in the office.

So I am over the moon and so looking forward to getting out to paint the lakes and mountains

that surround this town.

Now a while back I interviewed Nathan folks who designs and

paints amazing backgrounds for the movie industry and in that interview Nathan

mentioned James Gurney's book Color and Light as one of his top books for

understanding painting techniques. So I reached out to James Gurney and asked him
