Hey, this is John Gordon with Positive You. And today, my guest is a person I've known

a long time. I've known her her whole life. I was there when she was born. Her name is

Jade Gordon. Jade, how you doing? Good dad. How are you?

Like that intro. So, Jade, when you wrote your college essay, you said, when I was young,

my mom struggled with her health and my dad struggled with himself. What did you mean by

that? And what was that like growing up with us?

Yeah, my mom, you know, she had health issues. She talks a little bit about her breast and

plant story where she just really was struggling with her health and you were struggling with

yourself. And in the sense of you weren't the most positive person, you weren't the best

leader. But as a result of that, you've have learned how to become a better leader and

now you're teaching other people. So I think it was, that's, you know, what allowed you

to grow in that is my mom challenging you, saying, you know, I'm going to leave you if

you don't become more positive. And now you're a really positive person.

So you saw a change in me. You saw me go from negative to positive. What was that like?

What were the differences?

You became more of an encourager. And instead of, you know, growing up playing lacrosse,

that was our thing or rebonded a lot over it. You're a driver. And so you were like,

you know, you just wanted me to be my best. But you weren't doing it in the right ways of

it was telling me what I was doing wrong. Instead of, you know, being like, Hey, this is

what you should do. Instead, it was, you're doing this wrong. You're doing this wrong.

And you, you know, you read inside out coaching and you learn that I have to unconditionally

love my child and support them no matter what. And instead of, you know, telling me what I was
