If those of us who are waiting for the sequel to Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny,

it has now arrived thanks to the good people at YouTube,

who brought us Tenacious D in post-apocalyptic.

And Tenacious D, Jack Black and Kyle Gats is seeing across me.

Guys, thanks so much for doing this.

Thank you for having us.

I would like to correct you on one thing, though, because it makes it sound like YouTube paid us to make post-apocalyptic. It wasn't really brought to you by YouTube. It's just the only place that would allow us to show it to the masses.

That's where we should start with this then, because you had told me when we did an event for the project at the LA Film Festival that you've gone to a number of other places, and the response was...

Was just a flat out no.

Pass, a hard pass from the entire industry.

Yeah.

Which was a shocker to us because we really thought we had a slam dunk.

We had an ace in the hole because we're looking around at the entertainment landscape.

We're seeing some really funny cartoons out there, you know, the Rick and Morty's of the world.

And we think, hey, that's a space that we could occupy as well. A tenacious D, you know, R-rated cartoon.

This could be really a fun project.

And who wouldn't snatch up a tenacious D cartoon?

And so we did a little animatic.

It's a five-minute sample of what it would be like, kind of, with my drawings and very

rough. A more primitive version of what you finally made. Exactly. And it was black and white.
