Even doer tough movies like Wall Street when he never sleeps make them into masters of the universe.

The movie Margin Call is more like a look backstage at a fairy tale.

The movie was a huge hit at Sundance.

Thank you very much for having me.

You purposely chose not to romanticize any aspect of the story that you tell. Yeah, it, it came about,

you know, I wrote it as the crisis was going on. So literally in 2008, late, late 2008,

right around the time of the election.

I hadn't written anything in a long time.

I'd sort of gone away from writing for a bit for a bunch of different reasons.

What was what was the reasons?

I had a project fall apart about six days prior to photography starting a couple

years before this project got going.

And I had worked on that project for, I hate to say it, but eight years.

So basically about the time you were doing your short.

Yeah, exactly.

That short was done before that film to try to show what I could do.

And then we put financing together.
