Hey Dave, we're back again a week later to have another kind of quick chat on this Corona issue

Developing around the world. Yeah, I'm excited. I you know the last one we did was quite a hit lots of people were commenting on it a lot and

It seems to make sense given it's a developing situation and we have some opinions

Both you and I are sort of unusual in this world of medical science and that we're comfortable putting hypotheses out there that are very testable. That, you know, that was the same way when we were talking things like cholesterol. Well, this is one of those times where it's important for us, I think,

to not only do analysis, but to see how it changes as the stories progress. Yeah, I think so.

And there's a lot of question marks out there, even amongst the so-called experts. I mean,

there are proposals recently that the increase in rate of infections is kind of very

correlated to the increase in testing.

So there is going to be a linkage there.

And the death rates are obviously going to be more telling really than infection rates.

And then there are some countries that are doing quite different things like Sweden.

I've been interested in the last few days are doing much less a lockdown and much more a kind of social distancing, protect the elderly.

And it's going to be really interesting to see how their figures differ from neighboring

countries who have done full lockdown for weeks.

So yeah, there's a lot of interesting data, but without making judgments per se,

we can just discuss it openly.

Well, yeah, and Sweden was, I believe you brought that up last week, right?

That they seem to be doing pretty well in spite of having much more, you know, they're calling in the media laissez-faire

approach to this, although things have developed a lot in last week. They've received a lot more

criticism, particularly from their neighboring Scandinavian countries that are more on lockdown

and that they're concerned, given the the death rates climbed up a lot.

I think when we last talked, I just took a peak and I think it was they had around 50 deaths on the day of or somewhere around that.
