Inside the Birds is back. What's up, everybody. It's Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaplan. And just when you thought it was safe to be happy or,

you know, maybe you're not happy,

but at least you knew the Eagles had a new offensive coordinator and you could start

thinking about the offense at him just when you thought it was safe.

Then my colleague, Jimmy Kemsky, comes out with a report on Sunday.

Something that we knew a little bit about, but Jimmy really put a great amount of detail into it,

that Vic Fangio,

considering retirement and that the Eagles had spoken to both Jim Schwartz and another,

oh, Jonathan Gannon about the job. And, you know, it's a little bit in limbo now, according to Jimmy's story, and we'll talk about him more. You know, like he said, all right, but no one will really confirm that he's definitely

going to be the defensive coordinator this year.

At least nobody was able to confirm that to Jimmy from the team.

So that's pretty interesting here.

And that would leave the Eagles in a pretty tough predicament if he decides at the last

second to just hang it up.

I mean, it's funny.

I guess, I was at the senior bowl last week, but I guess this was the big rumor.

This is what we kind of learned, I guess, Saturday or something that the big rumor was that

fans who might retire, but I'm thinking, wait a minute, the time to do this, almost always

coaching retirements, head coach or coordinator happen within three to five days after team season

is done.

This case, obviously, after the Niners game.

And the big reason is you don't want to hold up your coaches so they can get work.
