Georgia Maloney, the very popular, very outspoken, vivid, prime minister of Italy, longest in the job for many generations, and yet more to be done.

I welcome Lorenzo Fiori, who is in Milan to help me understand the politics of Italy.

Lorenzo, a very good evening to you. The announcement is that George and Maloney will be

meeting with Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, soon enough in these next days.

Now, for some time you've educated me that Mr. McCrone and Ms. Maloney do not see eye-to-eye, as we say in English,

and go in different directions when it comes to the European Union.

But this meeting appears to be significant because Mr. McCrone and other voices in the EU

look to Ms. Maloney as a way to bridge any misunderstanding from

their country, say Paris, and Washington, especially Mr. Trump.

George Maloney appreciate she's being treated as somebody in between Europe and Washington, does she take on?

That's an extra burden given all the work she has.

I think that you summarized very well about George Meloney Hall,

vis-a-vis the relationship between US and the EU.

We spoke several times about this breaching role that Georgia is doing.

In my opinion, Georgia has a capacity, a skill to make herself well understood by their counterparts.

Because she speaks white is white, black is black, she's pretty coherent and logic.

She doesn't change a position.

And of course this is an element that now makes the French people pretty nervous because they don't have that role that in the past they were used to have leading, let's say, Europe on behalf of all the European countries.
