To Italy, to Lorenzo Fiori to report on the crisis in the Middle East, the crisis in Europe,

twin crises, and the Italian government responding.

Lorenzo, a very good evening to you. The Arch of Titus in Rome lit up with Israeli colors.

Wonderful to see. Was it well attended? How did this event happen? Good evening to you.

Good evening, John. Good evening to all the radio listeners.

Let me say that the Arch of Titus is an important monument which to a certain extent divide the Roman people from the Jewish people

because it commemorates the triumph of the Roman destroying Jerusalem.

And so, resulting in the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, in the Jewish state.

And so, one of the newspaper of Italy, one of the important newspaper of Italy organized an opening

to, let's say, call people to express their solidarity to the Jewish community and to the Jewish people all around the world after what happened in Israel at the beginning of this week.

So, at night, there were thousands of Italians around the Arch of Titus that was painted by lights with the color of the Israel flag.

It was the very touchy event, very welcome by the Jewish community in Rome.

Just to express how the Italians are close to these Israeli people.

And the Jewish community in Rome is the largest in Italy, is that correct, Lorenzo?

Yes, it's the largest community of Jewish people in Italy.

There are also very important community in the major town of Italy.

And of course, in the small town, let's say that the Jewish community in Italy is pretty large and well respected.

But the most important is really the Jewish community in Rome.

And to express the government position of Italy and the solidarity with the Jewish community,

our Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, went immediately as a first action to visit the synagogue in Rome.

Don't forget that the synagogue was a place that some years ago was the theater of a very, very tragic event.
