This is CBS and the world. I'm John Batchel. Off to Italy. Lorenzo Fiori, my good friend, who is on the coast of Italy, in what was once the Republic of Genoa.

He's in a village on a very steep hillside called Zawali over the

blue Mediterranean, but we're looking at Roman history, Lagourian history, more than 2,000 years

of people on this hillside. Lorenzo, greetings, welcome and thank you. Zawali is all I know

is looking at the picture. What is it like around you? What is the view of the Mediterranean?

And you're near a very, and also a very famous city named Portofino. Good day to you.

I mean, Zawali, and you did say very well.

It's a beautiful village on the east side of the coast of Liguria, east of Genoa,

on the old Latin road, the Aurelia Road,

and this road is a fantastic road,

beautiful for the outlook that you can have

every time you turn the wheel of your car

and you can discover a new beautiful landscape,

plenty of Mediterranean vegetation, olive tree, and the fantastic color

of the sea.

That in Portofino, that is a very posh village, very famous, many Italian people goes

there because it's a sort of iconic place also for the stars international and

national. It's beautiful because it's a very cozy and narrow bay with the emerald color of

the sea and a very dense green vegetation surrounded by beautiful, colored small housing, typical of the Ligurian villages

along all the coast of Genoa.

And don't forget that Genoa have a lot of connection with the United States being the land

...
