Summary

In this episode, we explore cholangitis—an often overlooked yet critical inflammatory condition affecting the bile ducts. These tiny tubes transport bile from the liver to the gallbladder and small intestine. We break down the complexities of cholangitis into easy-to-understand terms, examining its causes, symptoms, and treatment options.

Our discussion emphasizes the importance of recognizing cholangitis's early signs. Early detection and intervention are crucial in preventing serious complications. We also address the emotional and physical challenges faced by individuals living with this condition, providing resources for support and information.

Join Dr. Niket Sonpal as we illuminate the small but significant impact cholangitis can have on one's life.

tachicardia and even altered mental status. But as time has gone on, we know that

1:18.9

it can actually present as serious and as life-threatening as that sounds,

1:22.0

but also it can have some mild and insidious

1:24.3

progressive symptoms. And the causative agent is still gallstones, and up to 70% of cases of
