People often think they’re dealing with toxin overload when the problem is with detoxification.
Glutathione is the master detoxification enzyme of the entire body. It protects the mitochondria, keeps hydrogen peroxide in check, protects cell membranes, and supports the function of other antioxidants in the body.
When your glutathione is low, you can not eliminate toxins. Glutathione’s most important function in your body is to protect your mitochondria. Many chronic illnesses are associated with mitochondrial damage, including cancer.
Toxins attack the electron transport chain in the mitochondria, which generates energy. You need energy to detoxify your body! Glutathione helps the body eliminate fat-soluble toxins. It also helps prevent damage to cellular membranes caused by seed oils.
Glutathione supplements are poorly absorbed and break down very quickly. To make glutathione, you need the amino acids cysteine and glycine. You also need selenium, the most important mineral for detox, which is intimately involved in activating glutathione.
Selenium is also vital for thyroid function. If your thyroid is under-functioning, you won’t produce adequate bile, and you won’t be able to detoxify.
The best source of selenium is Brazil nuts. Two per day supplies all the selenium that you need. Other foods high in selenium include Eggs, organ meats, Cruciferous vegetables, Shellfish, and Fish.
Modern-day soils do not have adequate selenium, so it’s easy to become deficient. This can compromise your body’s detoxification pathways, thyroid function, immune function, and more.
Healthy bile flow is vital for detoxification. If you decide to go on a detox, try taking TUDCA a few days beforehand.
There are two types of bile—one is made by the liver, and the other is made by your microbes. Issues with your microbiome could also lead to low bile levels.
To support natural detoxification, focus on the following:
• Adequate bile
• Healthy thyroid
• Selenium
• Healthy microbiome

| 0:00.0 | The most important detoxification mineral in the world is not what you think. |
| 0:05.5 | And I'm going to reveal it right here shortly, but I want to see if you can guess what it is. |
| 0:09.8 | So comment down below. |
| 0:11.2 | The big mistake that people make with detoxification is they have this idea that I have too many toxins. |
| 0:17.6 | I'm overloaded with toxins. |
| 0:19.7 | No, that's not usually the problem. The problem is |
| 0:22.9 | you have a detoxification problem. Your body is having a difficult time getting rid of the toxins. |
| 0:29.5 | This is very different. If detox was a pyramid, at the very top would be glutathione. |
| 0:35.7 | That is the master detoxification enzyme of the entire body, |
| 0:40.3 | but requires a mineral. Glutothion doesn't just work in the liver. It works within every single |
| 0:47.0 | cell in your entire body. And it even does a lot of work in the mitochondria. This is the energy |
| 0:52.1 | factory of your body. Glutothiome protects the |
| 0:54.7 | mitochondria more than just about everything. So it will neutralize things like hydrogen peroxide. |
| 1:00.5 | You might have some hydrogen peroxide in your bathroom where you put it on a sore and you see it |
| 1:05.2 | kind of bubble up and it disinfects certain things. But your own body makes hydrogen peroxide |
| 1:09.7 | to kill off microbes and do other things. |
| 1:12.4 | And it's very, very corrosive. So we have glutathione to help keep it in check. So it doesn't end up |
| 1:18.0 | damaging your own cells, including the mitochondria. Glutifion also is super important in |
| 1:23.6 | protecting damage in the membranes of the mitochondria, in the membranes of all of your cells. |
| 1:31.1 | So this is a cell, and you have a membrane around it, well, glutathione is important to protect that. |
| 1:37.3 | And also, you have membranes around all the different things inside the cell. |
| 1:41.4 | Glutothion protects that. |
