Come on, let's read our verse of the year. We read it every single Sunday. If you're new to social,

this is our verse of the year as we're going to stay planted. Come on, Psalms 92 verses 13 through 15.

Let's read it with uplifted voices. One, two, three. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord

shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in the old age. They shall be fresh and flourishing

to declare that the Lord is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Come on, social. You sound good. Remain standing.

This is our text for today found in the gospel according to Matthew.

This is a story that Jesus is telling.

And this is the only gospel that you will find this powerful story.

This is red letter.

Matthew chapter 20 will start in verse number one.

And Jesus declares, for the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the

morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent

them into his vineyard.

About nine in the morning, he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing.

He told them, you also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.

So they went.

He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon

and did the same thing. About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing

around. And he asked them, why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing? Because no one

has hired us, they answered. He said to them, you also go and work
