In 1926, Dan, Ernest Hemingway released his first novel, The Sun Also Rises.

1926. I mentioned that, Dan, because as it turns out, the sun also sets.

And as we're doing this podcast here on Thursday, which drops on Friday, a lot of sunsets in the market.

Now, we are not one to do the I Told You So Stuff, but what I will say, and I think you would echo,

a lot of the things that you've seen over the last week, week and a half, we've talked about a great

You've done a string of them over the year and a half that we've been doing this, having you?

I have.

And I enjoy literary references. You know, I went, as you know, I attended and graduated from a fine

Jesuit institution, Georgetown University, and we needed to read books at that school. So that's

what I did. All right. Let's talk about it when you talk about the sun also setting. It's pretty

remarkable. When we were headed into April guy, we had this stat that 15 of the last 16 April's have been higher for the S&P 500 and whatever

that average return was.

It wasn't small.

It was by I think at least one or two percent or so.

And I remember we spent some time talking about what those sort of statistics mean.

But listen, man, since last Wednesday, the Fed had that presser. It was the first

half-point Fed funds rate hike that they have done since May of 2000. The S&P at its lows this

morning from last Wednesday's close was down 10% and the NASDAQ was down nearly 13%. And what's
