All right, today we are diving back into the book of John chapter number 16. And if we

remember the context here, Jesus is speaking to his disciples, who he has been teaching

for the last three and a half years. They've been following him around the countryside

as he goes from village to village into the cities, now into the country. And he's

ministering to people and he's teaching and he's teaching them along the way. Wouldn't

you have enjoyed being one of those men who sat around the campfire at night with Jesus

and heard him tell stories, heard him converse about the kingdom of God, heard him have personal

conversations with the person next to you. It would have been such a rich time. And I

think all of us would have just loved to have that kind of experience right alongside

Jesus. But my friends, I'm here to tell you in our passage today is here to tell us

that is not the best it gets. Stop for a moment and let that sink in. Walking physically

with Jesus on this planet is not the best it gets. In fact, what we have right now, Jesus

himself says is better. Let's read it. This is in John 16, beginning in the last part

of verse number four. Jesus says, I did not say these things to you from the beginning
